  1. God loves a trier, I have painted this scene in the hope of getting an order from "The Sill" a new Landscape Discovery Centre in Northumberland National Park which is due to open this summer. If you walk from the Sill car park to Hadrian's Wall you will come across this beautiful view. I already have a few paintings inspired by Hadrian's Wall which I painted for the Northumberland Tourist Information shops which have now all shut. Oh well, where one "gate" closes another one opens I hope!

  2. As a child I spent many summer days exploring along the abandoned railway lines near Sunnybrow with my niece & nephew. It has not changed too much, a bit more overgrown & the allotments look neat & tidy compared to how I remember them. I knew I had to paint it when I saw the horse admiring the view.
This painting is in memory of my nephew Stuart.
